The scan app
The phone-first workspace behind every printed QR: parts, locations, job packs, purchase orders, Kanban cards and lot / serial labels.
01Why it exists
The people who move stock and run jobs are rarely at a desk. Every label the workspace prints carries a QR that opens the right screen on a phone, with the actions that make sense there and nothing else. Staff sign in once on the phone; that session holds its own slot and never competes with a desktop login.
02The hub
- Receive deliveries — open purchase orders waiting on goods (see Receiving deliveries).
- Batch stock mode — scan a location, then parts or units, and book receive / issue / move in one go. Scanning a PO, job pack or Kanban card hands over to that screen.
- Floor board and Full inventory — links back to the desktop views.
- The round camera button, on every screen, opens the scanner.
03What each label opens
- Part label — stock by location for the item with one-tap movements; tracked items ask which lot or serial.
- Location label — everything at that bin with receive / issue / move actions.
- Job pack — start and complete the job; completing books finished parts into stock and mints lot / serial codes for tracked items.
- Purchase order — the receive screen for that delivery.
- Kanban card — signal a reorder (see Kanban cards).
- Lot / serial label — the unit’s genealogy (see Lots and serials).
Batch scan has a Count mode: pick Count, scan the bin and its open stock count loads (or start one there). Each part scan is one unit found, a lot or serial label names the exact unit, and Record saves the figures to the count — the variances are reviewed and posted on the desktop.
04Labels
Print labels from Inventory, from an item, from a location, after a goods receipt or a job completion, and for units. The label sheet is a plain print page — use the browser’s print dialog on a phone or a desktop.
05Access per screen
The hub shows only the screens your access allows — receiving needs purchasing access; stock moves, counts, labels and the batch scanner need inventory access; the job pack needs work orders. Opening a screen you cannot use bounces you back to the hub with a one-line note naming the access to ask a manager for.

Production jobs: draft → released → in progress → completed. Releasing issues materials from stock; completing books the finished parts back in.
