Software for 3D printing bureaus: upload the model, quote the process, order online.

A print bureau's day is models arriving by email, quotes by process and material, and the same prototype ordered again in a different quantity. NE Vault gives your customers a portal to upload the model and order, and gives you the quote, the queue and the invoice behind it.

CRM and the customer portal are free. Stock and production are $39 a month each, AUD ex GST.

The reality

Different shops. The same six problems.

  • “Models arrive by email with no quantity and no material.”

A quote-a-model request form on your portal asks for the file, the process, the material, the quantity and the date. It lands in your queue, not your inbox.

  • “We quoted the same part three times this month.”

The item holds the model, the process and the last price; the reorder quotes itself at the agreed price breaks.

  • “Which printer is it on, and when is it off?”

Orders become work orders queued to machines; the floor board shows what is printing, queued and done.

  • “Post-processing and the invoice slip a week.”

Despatch raises the invoice the day it leaves, emailed to their accounts address.

  • “Customers want to see the model before they approve.”

The portal shows their models in a 3D viewer, view-only unless you allow download.

  • “Resin and filament stock is a guess.”

Materials by location with reorder points and purchase orders from the shortfall.

How a job goes through it

From the request to the money in the bank.

  1. 01

    They upload the model.

Quote-a-model on their portal: file, process, material, quantity, date. Or you log it after the call.

  2. 02

You quote by process and material.

Methods and materials with the properties customers compare on — strength, finish, tolerance — priced with the margin visible, approved online.

  3. 03

The approved quote becomes the order.

Lines, PO number and delivery carried across. It joins the pipeline: received, in production, QC, invoiced, shipped, completed — and the customer can see which.

  4. 04

    It queues to a printer.

A work order per job, placed against the machine, started and finished by a phone scan; post-processing as its own step if you want it.

  5. 05

It ships, and the invoice goes with it.

Despatch issues the stock and raises the tax invoice from the same lines. It emails to their accounts address that day; with Xero connected it is in your books and marked paid when the money lands.

Each step is a screen in NE Vault. See all seven, with the screen for each.

Australian by default

Built here, priced here, hosted here.

  • Prices in AUD, GST on every tax invoice, your ABN on the documents.
  • Net 30 and 30 EOM trade terms with credit limits, the way Australian shops actually trade.
  • Your data is hosted in Sydney; two-factor login and a full audit trail are on from day one.
  • Built inside a working engineering shop in Casula, NSW, that makes parts for mining and construction.
  • A web app — the same in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide or a regional mining town, nothing to install.

Quoting the parts you have made before

Most quotes in a job shop are for something you have already made.

Questions

The questions shops ask before they start.

Can customers pay by card online?

Yes. Checkout takes card payment, bank transfer, or a trade account with terms for approved customers. Card payments are collected through Stripe.

Does it price automatically from the model?

No. You price the quote; NE Vault gives you the process and material catalog, the last price for a repeat part and the margin as you type. It does not analyse the geometry.

Which file types can customers upload?

STEP and other CAD files for the 3D viewer, plus PDFs and images. File types and the size limit are set in your settings.

Can I show processes and materials the way my customers compare them?

Yes. The 3D printing template sets up FDM, SLA, SLS, CNC and vacuum casting as processes, and materials with the properties buyers compare on; rename or add your own.

Is the portal free for my customers?

Yes — customer logins are always free and unlimited. CRM and the portal are free for you too, with one staff user.

Does it work with Xero?

Yes. Invoices push to Xero as they issue and are marked paid when the money lands.
