01Built from the ledger

Figures roll up from orders, invoices and stock movements — the same records you see on each page.

02Estimate vs cost of goods

The margin report costs an order two ways. Est. cost is today's figure — BOM plus routing for made parts, standard or last-paid cost for bought ones — so it moves as costs change. COGS is what the despatched stock actually cost by your cost method, stamped on the despatch movements when the order shipped, so it never moves afterwards; it stays blank until the order ships with stock, or if any despatched line was uncosted. The “Margin on COGS” tile covers only shipped orders.
